Hunter Douglas Rechargeable Battery Wand for Automated Shades: What It Is and How It Works

Are you tired of constantly replacing the batteries in your motorized blinds and shades?

Hunter Douglas, a leader in creating bespoke window treatments, has recently released the Rechargeable Battery Wand for PowerView® automated shades.

If you're thinking about getting motorized blinds, then it's worth learning more about the rechargeable battery wand.

The new Rechargeable Battery Wand gets hidden behind the headrail of your blinds. You won't see the power source — no unsightly cords and cables. But it's easy to remove and recharge. And don't worry, you won't have to charge it very frequently. Depending on how often you open and close your blinds, the charge should last from 6-12 months. After charging the wand, it's easy to place it back in the headrail of your blinds.

According to Hunter Douglas, "The battery charge lasts up to one year, depending on shade use. When it needs to be recharged, homeowners get a notification via email or from the PowerView App indicating which shades have low batteries."

Stay Connected and In Control

When it’s time to recharge, the PowerView App ensures that you’re always in the know.

The battery charge can last for up to a year. When it needs to be recharged, you’ll be notified either through email or the PowerView App. There is a Dual Charging Station which is a charging solution that makes it easy to keep fully charged spare Battery Wands on hand.

To replace a low battery, simply unsnap it from the magnetic mount behind the shade, snap in a fully charged spare, and place the removed Rechargeable Battery Wand into the Dual Charging Station so that it's ready for the next time.

Alternatively, the Rechargeable Battery Wand can be charged in place while still mounted to the shade using the optional single charger. Both options fully charge the battery wand in under three hours.

Prioritizing Safety and Durability

Safety is important to Hunter Douglas; thus, the Rechargeable Battery Wand is UL-listed and boasts the broadest operating temperature range available for rechargeable window covering solutions. Additionally, a safety shutoff feature ensures that in the rare event the battery gets too hot it will turn off automatically.

Hunter Douglas's Rechargeable Battery Wand is compatible with most shade styles and can even be retrofitted to existing automated window treatments. It's a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and design excellence.
